In GMAW/Spray Transfer, the value at which the electrode metal transfer changes from globular to spray mode as welding current increases for any given electrode diameter.

Mode of metal transfer across the arc where a molten ball larger than the electrode diameter forms at the tip of the electrode. On detachment, it takes on an irregular shape and tumbles towards the weld puddle sometimes shorting between the electrode and work at irregular intervals. Occurs when using shielding gases other than those consisting of at least 80% argon and at medium current settings

Refers to the arc transfer when you can see the globules burning off and falling into the puddle as opposed to a ?smooth arc?.

An arc welding process wherein coalescence is produced by heating with an arc between a single tungsten (nonconsumable) electrode and the work. Shielding is obtained from a gas or gas mixture.
